2005 January meeting
Club meeting was held on Friday evening January 14th.
Meeting was held at the Indianapolis Training Center, 2820 N. Meridian St.
Our radio clubs New 2005 theme : "Our 91st year; Get Radio Active!" ....

The Club continues to growing with 80+ members ...37 attended this meeting,
President Chuck Crist - W9IH began the Gathering with Self introductions to those attending;
with a special last introduction and thanks to
Barb- KB9BSV .( our Check-in table/organizer) Great Job!!

Presidents comments an announcements
-The 1st IRC 2005 Exect. board meeting was held prior to the General meeting, with great results.
President W9IH reported the plans for 2005 IRC events to include:
-Another Express Ham Class ; April 11,13,15th at the Scottish Rite Cathedral,
co-sponsor will be the Scottish Rite.more info...click here

-May21 (sat) we are planning a commercial BUS trip to the DAYTON hamfest, cost per person approx. $17.
see the sign up sheets at the February 11th meeting.
-July 16 & 17th is Museum ships weekend and the IRC plans to operate as W9IND from
the USS Indianapolis Memorial downtown.
-Aug 6th? will be the 2nd annual IRC picnic at the K9OOA Swapfest in Broadripple. large attendance is expected.
-We are looking for event ideas for Either September or October....?
-The ITC ham room usage procedure was reviewed and all encouraged to use the radio room facilities and
report any problems to our new
Chief OP: Trevor Fulk-N9YM.
-NO Treasurer Report; but Tom-K9XV ask for those wishing IRC Name tages to indicate so on the sign-in sheets.
-Chuck-W9IH; presented LIFE Membership certificates to our newest Life members that were present,
those not (Steve Gregg-N9RKS) present will receive them by mail.
-Certificates were presented to Paul Bohrer-W9DUU, Dave Miller-K9RTT & Bill Goodall-K9DBY;
our official total is 22 for life members.
-Next item was the "Marconi Award" for technical excellence.

Jim Keeth-AF9A
This was the 1st year for our new award representing the community contributions by an Amateur radio operator and
Jim Keeth-AF9A was selected for this Borgwarner looking award.
-Jim gets to keep the new award for a couple of months and then it will be on display at the ITC until next December.
-Each recipient has their name ,Call & presented year engraved on the Trophy.
-Other Announcements :
-For on air activities members were reminded to check out the IRC website for current and changing events.
-the Indy 70 Youth group plans a special event at the Baxter (south) YMCA; April 2nd , 9am-4pm,

-Mar 19th, is weather spotters seminar 9-noon at the ITC facilities; sponsored by NOAA.
-Indy Red cross club is planning their Field day at Fort Ben in Lawrence. (JUNE)
