Club meeting was held on Friday evening February 11th.
Meeting was held at the Indianapolis Training Center, 2820 N. Meridian St.
Our radio clubs New 2005 theme : "Our 91st year; Get Radio Active!" ....
Executive Board members meet before he
general meeting to discuss and plan the club activities and events.
Special thanks to them for the extra effort to
attend one more meeting!.
Thanks to our Refreshment committee; John-K9GZR, Ed-N9IZN & Tom-KC9GQM;
for their outstanding efforts to make the social part of out meeting a success.
(if you get in late you will miss out on some great pastries!.)...No Pix available of the Pastries, they go that fast.!
The General meting started a little later than 7:30PM, everyone seems to enjoy the social time,
so it was extended for this meeting. Sixty Seven (67) attended the March meeting.
I think this is a record for the club during the past 5 years.?

Presidents comments an announcements
-May21 (sat) we are planning a commercial BUS trip to the DAYTON hamfest,
cost per person approx. $15 per person/ round trip.
see the sign up sheets at the APRIL 8th meeting.( Our Bus is not Full yet!!!!.
Deadline for sign up is 08 APRIL 2005.
-All IRC members are encouraged to use the ITC radio room facilities.

Chief OP: Trevor Fulk-N9YM.
We are looking for a donated or inexpensive HF transceiver for the ITC HAM room facilities.
This will be a Supplement to the FT990 already in place.
If you have any leads on this request; contact Trevor-N9YM or Chuck-W9IH.
- Membership Drive: now - Nov…3rd, 2005.. Any IRC member that recruits (3) new IRC Regular members;
will receive (1) "FREE" Meal pass for the 2005 December Dinner meeting.
New regular member is defined as not an IRC member for the past (3) years. (since Jan 2002)
- No-Code Tech license (express) class, Sponsored by Indianapolis Radio Club.
Class dates are: April 11, 13, and 15th, 2005. That is, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The location for the class sessions will be the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 650 N. Meridian St.,

-Columbus, IN Hamfest 8:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds.
Admission is $5.00. VE testing at 11:00am, for which the fee is $12.00. The Columbus ARC sponsors this

Patrick Richie-KC9GAB; and 14 interested young people from the ITC facility
have formed a youth Ham group.Several are already hams and plan to up grade
to General class with in the Year.
additionally they are planning a No Code Tech class at the ITC facility in MAY-JUNE of 2005.
IRC will be a sponsor of this activity, watch for more opportunities to help mentor this new group.
CONTESTERS or would be contesters; are reminded of the WPX contest on MARCH 25,26 & 27th.
It is 48 hour of chasing DX on the HF 160-10 meters (excluding the WARC Bands).
- Treasurer Report; but Tom-K9XV will introduce new club members at the April 08 th meeting..
IRC SECT. Mike Henney-KE9YA; reported that the IRC has been ARRL affiliated since 1929,
and Members can get great deals on Radio gear Insurance.

Monthly Program:was provided by Mike Koss-W9SU.

Mike enlightened attendees on the construction and performance of various lighting protection devices.
He covered many aspects of proper grounding techniques for our Ham shacks and homes.
He Included some very
interesting stories of the complications one might encounter if improper procedures were used.
Many attendees have emailed in their compliments on this outstanding presentation.
