  • 2005 September meeting

    • Club meeting was held on Friday evening Sept. 9th .
    Meeting was held at the University of Indianapolis campus;
    Lilly Science Hall, South side Indy.




    Our radio clubs New 2005 theme : "Our 91st year; Get Radio Active!" ....

    Special thanks to Ed Conder-(N9IZN-2) an the refreshment committee!..
    the University of Indianapolis campus is growing and
    a great place to hold club meetings.

    Meeting attendance was 40!

    Meeting announcements:
    New Hams: We had several new meeting attendees, two were new young hams from the
    recent July "Express ham class" and a new IRC Memeber; Paulene- KC9IDA.. Welcome & congrats!.

    Program: "Ham Radio Astronomy"











    -This program,"Ham Radio Astronomy"; by Malcolm (WA9BVS); assisted by Jim (KF9A) ,
    presented a Short History lesson of radio astronomy and its creating fathers
    plus the old equipment that was used to get things off the ground .! .
    -Once malcolm got us up to speed on the highly technical background; he and Jim (AF9A)
    took us through the basics of the radio telescope and the outline of the U of I
    ham radio telescope.
    -Several great questions asked; things like, how do you know your listening to a star or planet?.
    The answers were very interesting; If you missed this club program; you missed a good one.!

    Next Meeting:Friday, October 14th 2005, at 7:00PM at the
    Indianapolis Training Center,2820 N Merdian st.; bring a guest & come early for the social session..
    Coffee time begins at 7:00 PM; October will be the 1st annual CHILLI COOK off!
