IRC Bus to the Dayton Hamfest on 20 MAY 2006:
Judy-AA9GW our official tour guide and Bus driver Darlene kept us on schedule
for this trip, which included a breakfast stop in Richmond Indiana at McDonald's ....!
Then on to Dayton Hara arena and the Grand daddy Hamfest of all, the Dayton Hamfest....!
Our bus delevered us to the front door and was able to park right adjacent to the Out side flea maket area..
" Talk about convenient".... Especially for those afternoon "NAPS". Hara arena was the same old buzzing Business!
On the way over we held a "Blind Draw Donation 50/50 Raffel." The winner was Ed Taylor, $125, what a way to start the Hamfest off, with spending money.!!!
Mike- WA9NCF brought the donuts for the extra added sugar kick that all Hamventioneers need!!!!, thanks Mike.
Dayton also offers Ham License testing and one of IRC's own bus riders ; Penny Butler , passed her
Technician class test during the day. "CONGRATS to Penny- KC9(???)"!. Can you say "New HT", yep that promted an immediate purchase at the R & L electronics Booth .
Dinner at MCL Cafeteria on the return to INDY is the NORM for everyone and a chance to catch their second wind .
One lucky rider was the recipient of free dinner as the second draw item from the 50/50 drawing.
Then on to Indy; where our bus arrived on time ...7PM for the east side & 7:25pm for the south side riders.
Weather was the best ever for Dayton (Sunny & Cool), A FUN time was had by ALL !.....
This was a great way to travel to & from The Hamvention,
